Robert Tripp is President and CEO of Benefuel Inc., and served in that capacity previously for Gripp Industries Inc., a company that manufactured biodiesel facilities for a trucking company. Rob helped form Benefuel in late 2006 to capitalize on the acquisition of global patents on advanced biodiesel and glycerin refining technology. Rob uses his background in business process improvements to update the biodiesel industry’s business methods with automated quality assurance and condensed distribution supply chains. Rob also co-owned a successful Internet professional services company, Clarity Inc., which automated and networked business processes for hundreds of companies.
William Summers

Bill Summers is the Chief Science Officer for Benefuel Inc. Since 1974, Bill has managed multiple technology businesses with a focus on developing processes for new products and improving existing operational efficiencies. His experience encompasses all aspects of operations, from software and biotechnology to marketing and finance. Bill has also worked specifically with agricultural business models for over ten years. Because biodiesel refining links a number of major industries, including energy and agriculture, Bill’s extensive experience in the commercialization of agricultural, biological and chemical technologies will provide great support to Benefuel. Bill has a PhD. in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University and a MBA from Indiana State University.
Ravi Randhava

Ravi Randhava is one of India’s most innovative and successful chemical engineers, who translated his expertise into several successful American engineering firms. He has decades of experience in conceptualizing and designing novel processes and technologies. In working directly and indirectly with more than 900 pilot plants, Ravi’s background encompasses virtually every known reaction and separation technology for the transesterification of vegetable oils and animal fats. He has successfully commercialized large-scale biodiesel plants from small, pilot plant specifications, has been widely published in technical and academic journals and holds four patents in the field. Ravi’s technology commercialization experience will be a critical component of Benefuel’s push to bring cutting-edge catalytic processes to scale in the biodiesel market.

Jim Graham is a pioneer in the nascent biodiesel industry having sold the first biodiesel refinery in the US with a capacity over 10 million gallons per year to a trucking company that now produces its own fuel. Jim’s prior experience includes international logistics and export/import operations in China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. In addition to his extensive marketing and sales experience, Jim brings a great background in strategic partnerships, including such top-tier firms as Eastman Chemical. Jim will play an integral part in expanding the Benefuel customer base.
Paul Ratnasamy, PhD.
Dr. Paul Ratnasamy was born on June 11, 1942. He had his higher education (B.Sc. 1961, M.Sc., 1963 and Ph.D., 1967) at Loyola College, Madras.
Before joining NCL in 1979, he spent few years at Indian institute of Petroleum, Dehra Dun and one year at the University of Munchen as a Senior Humboldt Fellow. He established the Catalysis Division at NCL in 1980 and was its Head until he took over as the Director in 1996. He stepped down on his superannuation in June 2002.
Dr Ratnasamy has made substantial contributions to both fundamental research and the application of catalysis. His research has resulted in the publication of over 160 papers in international journals and about 125 patent applications (Including 35 granted outside India). He has supervised the thesis of 20 Ph.D. Students.
Dr. Ratnasamy has received several honors in his career. In 2004, he received the International Zeolite Association award for his contributions, to zeolite catalysis. This is the highest international award for lifetime achievement for research in zeolite chemistry and catalysis. In 2001, The President of India Honored Dr Ratnasamy with Padma Shree, one of the highest civilian awards given by the Indian Government.
Dr. Ratnasamy is a member of all the distinguished academies in science in India and the Third World Academy of Science, Trieste, Italy. More recently, Dr. Ratnasamy has been honored with the Srinivasa Ramanujam Research Professorship of the Indian National Science Academy for the period 2004-2009.
