(Chicago, IL) Benefuel Inc. announces the initiation of a new phase of R&D with the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India to pursue the development of commercial processes for the production of biodegradable lubricants and oleochemicals.

“This new program is more than an extension of Benefuel’s previous R&D contract support,” said Benefuel CEO Robert Tripp, “and seeks both highly efficient processes and novel catalysts to enable the conversion of renewable non-food fats and oils into a variety of high volume industrial chemicals.”

Benefuel is commercializing the world’s most advanced, solid catalyst biodiesel refining platform, capable of producing high quality biodiesel from almost any type of feedstock and thereby transforming the old model of large batch, centralized fuel production and fragmented distribution into a new model of localized production and consumption from the vast array of renewable, inedible fats and oils available in the global market.
