Flint Hills Resources
Flint Hills Resources, based in Wichita, Kan., is an independently managed, wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc. Flint Hills has completed acquisitions and capital expenditures of more than $5.3 billion since 2002. Flint Hills’ refineries produce fuels that power much of Texas, the American Midwest and the Alaska interior. The company markets a full slate of petroleum products – asphalt, group II base oils, gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, heating oil, aromatic and intermediate chemicals, olefins and polymers. The company also recently acquired two ethanol plants in Iowa. Flint Hills investment in Benefuel will help support Benefuel's strategy of developing commercial scale biodiesel refineries in the US.
